Labour’s Ryedale candidate welcomes election announcement

Paul Blanchard, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Ryedale, welcomed the calling of the election for 5 May and “looked forward to a good clean fight.”

Paul said:

“Today’s announcement from the Prime Minister is great news.

“I shall be out an about in the constituency every day, talking with people, and reminding them that this election not a referendum as some in the media say, but actually a choice – between a failed Tory past, or building on our success with Labour.

“People in Ryedale know that with the Tories you get economic uncertainty, recessions, and failing public services. There’s a lot at stake here, as I don’t want Ryedale to go back to that.

“With Labour, we have low unemployment, low mortgage rates, low inflation; and record investment in education, the NHS, and the police/

“Lets face it, if the people of Ryedale constituency want an effective voice in Parliament, someone who can influence a third term Labour government, they should elect a Labour MP.

Paul encouraged those in the constituency to get in touch with him if they wanted to talk. “Call me on 01904 427423 if you want to chat,” Paul said, “and if I’m out campaigning, leave a message and I’ll call you right back. You can also e-mail me on paul@ryedale-labour.org.uk”
